Youth Home

Second Presbyterian Youth

SPY is the Youth Ministry program at Second Presbyterian Church. Our mission is to provide a safe place where all youth are welcomed and belong. We want every youth to know that he/she is a beloved child of God and is an important part of a Christian community. We also want to challenge every youth to listen and respond to God’s call to them to lead a life of discipleship and ministry.

The standard SPY meeting schedule during the year is as follows:

Middle School SPY 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
High School SPY 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Dinner for all youth is served from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.

Youth Safe Ride Program

The Safe Ride Program is designed to keep young people from driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. It also seeks to provide youth with safe rides in other emergency situations.

By calling Yellow Cab, a young person can request a safe ride, and Second Presbyterian Church will pay for it.

In a perfect world, all of our youth would make smart decisions and not drink, but we know that is not always the case. When young people do make poor choices, we hope that they are able and willing to call a parent to get them safely home. We know that doesn’t always happen either. We hope that this program will give youth another option to make a good choice, and that it will save lives in the process. For more information on the Safe Ride program contact Jen Evans, Associate Pastor for Youth, Young Adult, and Families with Young Children Ministries, with questions at 227-0000 or jenevans@secondpreslr.org.
