Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women. The programming and resource options for the organization offer a variety of ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community.

Presbyterian Women Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
  • to support the mission of the church worldwide,
  • to work for justice and peace,
  • and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

Get Involved

Presbyterian Women at Second Presbyterian

All women are invited to participate in the many ways Presbyterian Women in our faith community seek to fulfill our purpose. Presbyterian Women study the Bible, get to know one another, provide hospitality and pastoral care, are involved in mission and stewardship, and develop leaders within our congregation. There are several ways to get involved with Presbyterian Women in our congregation:

Monthly Gatherings and Bible Study

All women are invited to gather on the first Tuesday of each month for fellowship, worship, and Bible Study. This group gathers at 10:00 a.m. in Second Hall.

Presbyterian Women Circles

Photo Presbyterian WomenWe have three circles that meet on the first Tuesday of each month following the monthly gathering. These small groups discuss and reflect on the lesson presented in the gathering, provide fellowship and pastoral care for their members, and participate in PW mission projects.

There is also an evening circle, Huldah, that meets each month for food, fellowship, and Bible study.

Together in Service

This group, which meets at 9:30 a.m. can be found visiting with one another as they work together on a variety of mission projects (sewing, knitting, packing mission kits, rolling bandages, etc.). No skills are required to join this group.
